About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join our team at Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will play a key role in providing high-quality care to individuals with personality disorders, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based interventions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and formulate treatment plans for individuals with personality disorders, taking into account their complex needs and circumstances.
  • Deliver individual and group therapy sessions, using a range of evidence-based approaches, including Mentalisation-Based Treatment (MBT).
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care, including psychologists, psychiatrists, and social workers.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of service policies and procedures, ensuring that they are aligned with best practice and meet the needs of our service users.
  • Supervise and support junior staff, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure that they are equipped to provide high-quality care.
Requirements
  • Doctoral level training in occupational therapy or a related field.
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as an occupational therapist.
  • Experience of working with individuals with personality disorders, including those with complex needs and challenging behaviors.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of our service users.
