Collections Development Manager

Role

The Collections Development Manager will be responsible for developing and managing the University of York's heritage science and conservation data collections. This will involve working closely with the RICHeS collections projects and facilities, as well as developing new relationships with stakeholders in the heritage science and conservation sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies for collecting, preserving, and making accessible heritage science and conservation data
  • Manage the relationship with RICHeS collections projects and facilities
  • Develop new relationships with stakeholders in the heritage science and conservation sector
  • Work collaboratively with the Head of Collections Development to take responsibility for collections development in particular domains
  • Line manage and allocate tasks to Digital Archives Officers and Assistants

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of the heritage science and conservation sector
  • Excellent IT skills and communication skills
  • Experience of working in a management role and writing reports or funding applications
  • Ability to work collaboratively and deliver a quality service
  • Desirable: graduate qualification in archaeology, heritage science and conservation or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience
