Job Title: Director of Quality Assurance and Regulation

Healthcare Improvement Scotland is seeking a strong, ambitious, and confident director to take forward the further development of external assurance and regulation of healthcare in Scotland.

The Quality Assurance and Regulation Directorate plays a major role in providing robust, objective, and independent quality assurance of all health services provided in Scotland. It works with various statutory bodies, including the Care Inspectorate, HM Inspector of Prisons, and NHS Education for Scotland.

This is a demanding role requiring resilience, energy, and high political acumen. The post holder will be a member of the Executive Team of Healthcare Improvement Scotland and play a significant part in ensuring a cohesive approach to improving the quality of health and social care.

The ideal candidate will have successfully performed at a senior level in demanding strategic and operational environments. They must offer visible and inspiring leadership, with the ability to foster positive and effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

  • Leading the Quality Assurance and Regulation Directorate
  • Developing and implementing quality assurance strategies
  • Working with stakeholders to improve healthcare quality
  • Providing leadership and direction to the team
