We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Youth Development Specialist at Birchwood Children Services. Our organization provides residential care and education for children and young people with diverse needs, including those on the Autistic Spectrum, with Learning difficulties, Physical Disabilities, complex needs, and associated challenging behaviours.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will play a vital role in shaping the lives of the children and young people we serve, providing tailored support, guidance, and a caring presence. They will assist with educational activities and homework, organise and participate in recreational and therapeutic activities, actively listen to the unique concerns of each child and young person, and collaborate with a dedicated team of professionals to ensure the best care for our residents.

Responsibilities
  • Providing individualised support to children and young people with diverse needs
  • Assisting with educational activities and homework tailored to individual requirements
  • Organising and participating in recreational and therapeutic activities
  • Active listening and provision of guidance to children and young people
  • Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality care
Requirements

We are looking for an individual who is compassionate, patient, and empathetic, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They must be able to work effectively as part of a team and be committed to promoting the well-being and development of children and young people with diverse needs.
