System Safety Assurance Engineer

Matchtech is seeking a highly skilled System Safety Assurance Engineer to join our team in Toronto. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading safety assurance for various projects, ensuring compliance with relevant international safety and technical standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead safety assurance for projects, ensuring compliance with standards such as EN50126, EN50129, and IEC 61508.
- Report on progress, manage staff competence and development, and deliver an internal audit schedule.
- Coordinate safety studies throughout the project lifecycle to ensure safety requirements are met.
- Manage hazard logs, review RAM, V&V, and T&C activities from a safety perspective.
- Prepare technical reports for submission to management, clients, and regulatory authorities.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent training.
- Relevant safety designations an asset.
- High degree of technical proficiency in dealing with safety-related aspects of large-scale and complex railway projects.
- Strong knowledge of modern railway projects, including various components and systems.
- Expertise in applying safety standards such as EN50126, EN50129, and IEC 61508.
