Job Description:
  1. Execution of QPCR assays to quantify bacteria in samples from clinical trials.
  2. Development and optimisation of quality control assays for batch release.
  3. Development of microbiological and molecular assays to characterise novel bacterial isolates in order to develop and test hypotheses on their mechanisms of action.
  4. Characterisation of anaerobic bacteria for development as medicinal products into live bacterial therapeutics in support of regulatory submissions.
  5. Provide guidance to junior members of staff.
Requirements:
  1. PhD in Microbiology or a related discipline/or equivalent experience.
  2. Ability to work independently.
  3. Natural sense of organisation and teamwork, sharing know-how and expertise in a multidisciplinary environment.
  4. Ability to design, execute and document experimental activities to high standards (required for regulatory filings).
  5. Sound understanding of the business perspective when making commercial decisions.
