Healthcare Assistant Specialist

The Healthcare Assistant Specialist will provide a domiciliary phlebotomy service to patients who are housebound in the community. This involves working strictly in accordance with specific trust guidelines and protocols, performing venepuncture to obtain blood samples from patients only as the result of a direct referral from a GP.
Full training and induction will be provided to the successful applicant, including competency-based assessment. As part of the role, the Healthcare Assistant Specialist will also be responsible for demonstrating venesection skills to other HCSWs new to the community as part of an agreed training programme.
The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling them to build effective relationships with patients, families, and healthcare professionals. A salary of approximately £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience, reflects the importance of this role in delivering high-quality patient care.
