About the Job

We are recruiting for a Senior Financial Controller to join our finance team at Brecon Beacons National Park Authority, playing a key role in shaping our financial strategy and direction.

Job Description

  • To develop and implement financial strategies, plans, and policies that align with organisational objectives.
  • To lead and manage the finance function, delivering high-quality financial reporting and advice to inform business decisions.
  • To work closely with senior management to provide strategic financial guidance, supporting the achievement of organisational goals.
  • To collaborate with the leadership team to ensure seamless integration of financial planning and budgeting.
  • To lead by example, inspiring and developing a high-performing finance team driven by excellence, continuous improvement, and customer focus.

Requirements

  • Experience of leading a finance team and managing budgets.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-accountants.
  • Proven track record of implementing financial process improvements and achieving cost savings.
  • Knowledge and understanding of local authority finance legislation and accounting standards.
  • Full/Part CIPFA, CCAB, or CIMA qualification.

Package

A salary of £42,000-£47,000 per annum, depending on experience.

25 days annual leave plus 8 public bank holidays and 2 extra statutory days, pro rata.

Pension scheme.
