About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Behaviour Mentor to join our team at a SEMH Secondary School in Basingstoke, RG22. The successful candidate will be responsible for working with pupils who require additional support, particularly those experiencing challenging behaviour and multiple disadvantages.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To design, implement, and evaluate individualized programmes that foster social, emotional, and behavioural development.
  • To collaborate with teaching staff and other support professionals in devising and implementing learning plans that promote academic, social, emotional, and behavioural growth.
  • To plan and facilitate structured activities and games to support pupils in utilizing unstructured time effectively.
  • To develop strategies to support pupils individually and in groups, both within and outside the classroom setting.
  • To observe and monitor pupil progress, adapting approaches as needed, recording and maintaining records of development and progress.
Requirements
  • Experience working as a learning mentor or behaviour support assistant to support children with challenging behaviour.
  • Ability to pass an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check to work with children.
  • Up-to-date Safeguarding Training (candidates without a recent certificate can undertake a free course with U-Educate).

The estimated salary for this role is £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience. We offer a competitive package, including opportunities for professional development and career progression.
