Our team thrives in a dynamic environment where collaboration and innovation drive our success. As a Service Operations Engineer at Amiosec, you will play a vital role in monitoring and maintaining our production infrastructure, ensuring seamless operations and security.

The successful candidate will work on a weekly shift rotation, Monday to Friday, 7.5 hours per day, with occasional on-call duties as Duty Manager. All candidates must obtain and maintain UK security clearance (DV).

Typical Responsibilities:

  • Incident and Major Incident Management
  • Release and Deployment activities
  • Fulfilling service requests such as information requests or new hardware requests
  • Hardware provisioning activities
  • Hardware support
  • Provisioning of new End User Devices
  • Automation and improvement initiatives
  • You will also actively support infrastructure build projects, assisting in design, build, and testing, and assessing technologies to enhance security or capabilities of the environments.

Your Profile:

Essential:

  • At least 1-2 years of experience in IT Operations
  • CCNA qualification
  • Proficiency in Linux operating systems and infrastructure applications
  • Experience with Docker or container-based infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of network fundamentals, DNS, NTP, DHCP, ISO model, TCP/IP, TLS, OpenSSL.
  • Basic scripting skills in Python or Bash
  • Basic understanding of HTTP/HTTPS Webservers and SQL Databases.
  • Physical server hardware support, e.g., disk, memory replacement, iDrac or iLo.
  • Experience with Security Monitoring tools (i.e. Nessus).
  • Familiarity with ESXi hosts and vCentre technologies.
  • Experience in firewalled Network/Gateway environments

Desirable:

  • CCNP certification
  • Collaboration tool experience, e.g., Atlassian Confluence & JIRA.
  • Mobile Device Management (MDM) knowledge.
  • SIEM tool experience, e.g. Splunk.
  • VMWare, Veeam Backup experience.
  • Windows server platforms expertise.
  • Deployment automation tool experience, e.g. Ansible, Git, CI/CD.
  • SIP/Voice over IP experience.
  • IPSec VPN knowledge.
  • Monitoring system experience, e.g. checkMK.
  • Cryptographic technologies understanding.
