About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mental Health Care Specialist to join our team at Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Urgent Care Pathway, you will be responsible for providing high-quality mental health care to patients within our acute trusts.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Offer comprehensive assessments and interventions to patients presenting with mental health issues.
  2. Provide expert guidance and support to general hospital colleagues in making informed decisions about patient care.
  3. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
  4. Educate and supervise registered and unregistered staff on mental health best practices.
  5. Represent mental health services within the general hospital setting.

The successful candidate will possess strong assessment and intervention skills, as well as excellent communication and teamwork abilities. A minimum of two years post-registration experience in mental health is essential, with a diploma in professional studies or equivalent qualification highly desirable.
