ALS Recruiting Solutions is seeking a skilled Air Import Operator to join our team. As a key member of our import operations team, you will be responsible for arranging import shipments from worldwide origins, coordinating with clients and other branches, and providing excellent customer service to import customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Arrange import shipments from worldwide origins, including coordinating with shipping lines, airlines, and transport companies.
  • Liaise with clients and other branches to ensure seamless import operations.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to import customers, responding to queries and resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Handle order traces, checking BOLs, AWBs, commercial invoices, and processing pre-alerts from overseas offices.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with shipping lines, airlines, and transport companies to ensure efficient import operations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar function in the freight forwarding industry.
  • Team player with the ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to handle customer queries and resolve issues in a professional manner.
  • Strong knowledge of customs regulations and procedures, with the ability to complete import customs entries accurately and efficiently.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.

What We Offer:

  • Basic Salary: £32,000 - £40,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
  • Bonus paid twice annually.
  • 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
  • Paid overtime.
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
