We are looking for an experienced Credit Controller/Accounts Receivable Accountant to join our team at Howett Thorpe. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing the company's credit accounts and ensuring clients pay their outstanding balances on time.

About The Role

This is a hybrid working role that would suit someone with experience in similar positions and skills in credit control and accounts receivable. You will work closely with our sales and external finance teams to resolve payment disputes and improve cash collection.

  • Monitor outstanding customer balances, follow up on overdue accounts, and escalate issues to the Finance Manager as needed
  • Evaluate the creditworthiness of new and existing customers, propose credit limits, and seek approval based on financial assessments

Key responsibilities include:

  • Generating and sending invoices and monitoring incoming payments
  • Reconciling customer accounts to ensure payments are accurately posted and resolving any discrepancies in accounts receivable balances

The successful candidate will have/be:

  • Previous experience in a credit control role/accounts receivable role
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships
