Purchasing Specialist

At Thermo Fisher Scientific, we are seeking a skilled Purchasing Specialist to join our team. As a Purchasing Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the purchasing and inventory management processes to ensure efficient and effective supply chain operations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design and implement new processes to optimize time management and refine existing processes to improve efficiency.
- Identify problems, analyze data, and suggest accurate decisions to document solutions and escalate to senior buyers when necessary.
- Ensure service level targets are met, including fill rate and availability.
- Manage purchasing and associated operational aspects of inventory management, including tracking shipments and taking vital actions in case of unusual delays.
- Establish and build effective relationships with suppliers and stakeholders within the business.

Requirements:

- Knowledge and understanding of company metrics and the impact of performance on results.
- Ability to manage data flow through each stage of a purchase order, including confirmation, estimated ship date, and ASN.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills, especially when dealing with suppliers.
- Ability to work autonomously and be proactive in improving supplier performance.
