About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Self-Employed Support Worker/Personal Assistant to provide high-quality support to a disabled gentleman in the Bournemouth BH8 area. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience supporting adults with learning disabilities, complex needs, and challenging behavior.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Support the client with practical living skills, including daily routines and activities.
  • Administer medication as required.
  • Promote effective communication and build positive relationships with the client and their family.
  • Support the client with personal care routines, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Assist the client in accessing community resources and activities.
  • Prepare meals, snacks, and drinks as needed.
Ideal Candidate:
  • Previous experience as a Personal Assistant or Support Worker in a similar role is highly desirable.
  • Provide evidence of self-employment status, including Public Liability Insurance, Terms and Conditions, and Tax Reference Number.
  • Hold a full, valid driving license.
  • Undergo DBS checks and be legally able to work in the UK.

The Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council Direct Payments Advice Service is a support service for individuals living independently in the community. We are not the employer, but rather a support service that helps individuals find suitable support workers.
