About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Laboratory Professional to join our team at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinical research facility.

Key Responsibilities

Your primary duties will include reviewing and following clinical trial lab protocols to undertake pre-analytical preparation of biological samples. This will involve centrifugation and pipetting, as well as PBMC isolation. You will be responsible for storing and shipping these samples to central laboratories around the world, while adhering to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Good Clinical Laboratory Practice (GCLP) guidelines.

In addition to your technical expertise, you will also be required to train research delivery staff in research laboratory processes and maintain crucial source documents. Your ability to communicate complex information to colleagues with varying levels of experience and seniority will be essential in this role.

Requirements

To be successful in this position, you will need to have a relevant Life Science degree and recent Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Training. Experience of formal/informal teaching of staff, clinical research environment, and clinical laboratory work will also be highly valued.

You should be able to demonstrate knowledge of GCP, clinical research methodology, and treatment protocols, as well as being adaptable/responsive to changing needs. Your attention to detail and ability to exercise initiative and work with minimum supervision or as part of a team will be essential.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is approximately £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, you will also receive a range of benefits, including access to ongoing training and development opportunities, as well as a comprehensive pension scheme.
