Job Title: Senior Laboratory ManagerJob Summary:

We seek an experienced and skilled Senior Laboratory Manager to lead our laboratory team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining a high-quality, cost-effective service that meets the needs of our medical staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement quality management plans with lab leadership, identifying improvement opportunities.
  • Create a lab-specific dashboard to incorporate elements of our goals, including service, quality, growth, cost, and people.
  • Oversee laboratory quality improvement activities and liaise with the performance improvement department.
  • Oversight of policies and procedures related to patient safety and transfusion service functions.
  • Participate in hospital-wide quality improvement initiatives/committees.
  • Promote a safe working environment in the laboratory.
  • Promote ethical practices and maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Manage capital expenditure requirements for the laboratory.
  • Evaluate laboratory layout and space requirements for maximum efficiency, safety, and standards such as Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA), College of American Pathologists (CAP), and others.
  • Support laboratory staff at all levels to maintain morale, a proper working environment, and interaction and delegation of management responsibility to supervisory staff.
  • Develop policies and procedures consistent with organizational and accreditation guidelines.
  • Formulate a strategic plan for laboratory outreach and marketing of services.
  • Manage and direct laboratory costs for testing and staffing, with benchmarking.
  • Implement and maintain standards for accreditation.
  • Provide input for planning and staffing for laboratory services in our clinics.
  • Provide educational and developmental opportunities for staff.
  • Perform all duties and tasks as per the hospital Code of Conduct and in line with the hospital's Vision and Mission.
  • Remain professional at all times and not involved in any out-of-committee/department discussion regarding policies, data, and information obtained within the department and as part of assigned duties.
  • Accept additional duties, within the scope of practice in periods of higher workload, and needs and as assigned by immediate superior.
  • Maintain regular working hours as per the employee contract.
  • Uphold the hospital values as per the C-I Care Program.
  • Promote and participate in departmental teamwork.
Salary and Benefits:

The estimated salary for this position is AED 250,000 - AED 350,000 per annum, depending on experience. Benefits include health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as laboratory science or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of experience in laboratory management, preferably in a similar setting.
  • Proven track record of improving quality and reducing costs.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
