Job Title: Scientist Lab Operations

CK Group is seeking a highly skilled Lab Analyst to join a leading Clinical Research organization in Livingston, West Lothian, on a contract basis for 6 months initially.

Our client is a global Contract Research Organization (CRO) dedicated to driving healthcare forward and improving patient outcomes.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will assist in troubleshooting and process improvements to increase data quality, lower costs, and reduce turnaround times. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in troubleshooting and process improvements to increase data quality, lower costs, and reduce turnaround times.
  • Acting as a technical resource for laboratory staff and supporting the team in the absence of the line manager.
  • Performing routine data analysis to determine if an analytical procedure is proceeding according to expectations and that the results are within acceptable tolerances.
  • Identifying and documenting potential performance errors or otherwise unusual results and escalating to senior lab personnel.
  • Preparing data analysis results for upload to the LIMS system under the guidance of senior-level staff.
  • Contributing to CAPA investigations, deviations, and resolution.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous working experience in a regulated laboratory environment.
  • Proficiency with routine and some non-routine laboratory calculations regarding batches and specimens, including averages, means, standard deviations, and various quality control metrics.
  • Good computer skills using Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
