About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced history educator to lead our department at Wayman Group. The ideal candidate will be a passionate and inspiring leader with a proven track record of success in curriculum development and teacher support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a rigorous and engaging history curriculum that meets the needs of our students
  • Provide leadership and direction for the history department, including mentoring and supporting other history teachers
  • Represent the history department at school events and meetings, promoting the subject and its importance in the curriculum
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive education for our students
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in history education and implement best practices in the department

Requirements:

  • A degree in history or a related field
  • QTS or PGCE in history or a related subject
  • 5+ years of teaching experience, with a proven track record of success in curriculum development and teacher support
  • Experience of leading a history department or similar role
