Occupational Therapy Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Occupational Therapy Technician to join our team at Swansea Bay University Health Board. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting the Occupational Therapist in the assessment, treatment, and intervention of individuals accessing our Early Intervention Psychosis service.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the provision of assessment, treatment, and intervention of individuals accessing the EIP service, working alongside the Occupational Therapist to ensure seamless delivery of care.
- Use technical and creative skills to assist in the provision of therapeutic occupations for individuals and groups of patients, promoting independence and enabling individuals to achieve their goals.
- Responsible for prioritizing tasks, managing workload, and working flexibly to meet the needs of the service.
- Travel across sites, including community, patient homes, and third-sector services, to deliver care and support.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with patients, families, and colleagues, promoting a positive and supportive team environment.
- Quality Credit Framework qualification at level 3 NVQ or OCN related to Health & Social Care.
- Documented evidence of participation in training activities.
- Understanding of the role of occupational therapy and relevant experience working within health, social, or teaching settings.
- Effective written and oral communication skills, with the ability to work single-handedly with individuals and/or groups.
- Ability to travel across sites, carry out clinical tasks, and prioritize workload appropriately.
