About the Role

As a Senior Electrical Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Engineer at Babcock International Group, you will play a critical role in providing technical and design support for facilities, systems, and equipment at our Devonport site. Your expertise will be essential in determining the condition of EC&I assets and establishing requirements for system/equipment upgrades, life extension, and replacement.

You will be responsible for providing EC&I design support to projects required for the defuel facilities, including:

  • Undertaking asset condition surveys and obsolescence studies
  • Specifying replacement equipment/components and supporting the production of configuration documentation for permanent modifications
  • Maintaining configuration of technical drawings and documentation
  • Supporting fault diagnosis and rectification
  • Supporting the design development of EC&I systems through various activities and production of deliverables
Essential Experience and Qualifications

We are seeking a candidate with:

  • Considerable operational knowledge of EC&I systems, both hardware and software-based systems and equipment
  • Sound understanding of relevant industry legislation for electrical systems, particularly functional and machinery safety
  • Instrumentation for electrical plant
  • Demonstrable experience of developing EC&I systems through typical design lifecycles
  • Stakeholder management to capture project scopes and requirements for successful project delivery
  • Ability to understand and produce electrical engineering drawings using AutoCAD
