Job Title: Senior Electrical Control & Instrumentation Engineer

At Babcock, we're working to create a safe and secure world, together. As a Senior Electrical Control & Instrumentation Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in providing technical and design support for facilities, systems, and equipment at our Devonport site.

The Role

You'll be responsible for determining the condition of EC&I assets within defuel facilities and establishing requirements for system/equipment upgrades, life extension, and replacement. You'll also provide EC&I design support to projects required for the defuel facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake asset condition surveys and obsolescence studies.
  • Specify replacement equipment/components and support the production of configuration documentation for permanent modifications.
  • Maintain configuration of technical drawings and documentation.
  • Support fault diagnosis and rectification.
  • Support the design development of EC&I systems through various activities and production of deliverables.

Requirements

  • Considerable operational knowledge of EC&I systems, both hardware and software-based systems and equipment.
  • Sound understanding of relevant industry legislation for electrical systems, particularly functional and machinery safety.
  • Instrumentation for electrical plant.
  • Demonstrable experience of developing EC&I systems through typical design lifecycles.
  • Stakeholder management to capture project scopes and requirements for successful project delivery.
  • Ability to understand and produce electrical engineering drawings using AutoCAD.

Qualifications

  • Degree in an appropriate electrical engineering discipline or significant experience with HNC.
  • Professional registration with an engineering institute is desirable.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
