Research Associate in Biostatistics

The University of Leicester is seeking a talented statistician to join our established research team and contribute to a programme of work in type 1 diabetes and technology. The appointed individual will contribute to the real-world evidence for decisions in diabetes (REDDIE) project, running novel analyses on large real-world datasets, including the National Diabetes Audit. Collaboration with European partners to develop and conduct complex analysis is also expected. Opportunities to contribute to a diverse range of ongoing projects in type 1 diabetes and technology are available.
We welcome applications from individuals with various backgrounds and expertise relevant to the topic area, including medical statistics, biostatistics, and epidemiology. Enthusiasm for the topic, along with the ability and willingness to learn and synthesise evidence, is expected. Experience in longitudinal data analysis and basic knowledge of causal inference are advantages. Training and support in new areas will be provided, with adequate freedom to develop your own ideas.
The appointed individual will be based at the Leicester Diabetes Centre, which is internationally recognised for its research in the prevention and management of diabetes and other long-term conditions. The post provides an excellent opportunity for an ambitious statistician to contribute to the ongoing development of our Research Centre alongside their own professional development.
About You
As a Research Associate, you will have a PhD in a relevant discipline, alongside evidence of contributing independently to experimental or translational research studies and peer-reviewed journal publications. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary research team are required.
