Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Asset Reconciliation Specialist to join our team at Close Brothers Group. As an Asset Reconciliation Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our asset transfer processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process all asset transfers in and out as per client instructions, communicating with clients, custodians, and ceding parties to ensure timely and accurate completion.
  • Assist in the production of any forms required relating to the transfer of assets or cash and track all open transfer instructions.
  • Process stock withdrawals and deposits from CREST and manage any certificated holdings relating to either corporate events or client transfers.
  • Complete all critical daily and periodic tasks to maintain and sign off against controls.
  • Ensure all market, broker, and client deadlines are met.
  • Prioritize and know which markets/risk to deal with in defining workflow to mitigate risks to the service, including, but not limited to, Operational Risk, Reputational Risk, and product risk.
  • Liaise effectively and regularly with relevant stakeholders across the business.
  • Investigate and resolve reconciliation discrepancies.
  • Communicate with clients, brokers, and custodians to ensure timely resolution of queries.
  • Escalate reconciliation, process, control, and regulatory issues to the team lead or department manager.
  • Ensure all functional department procedures and controls are in place, complete, updated, and adhered to as defined.
  • Assist and produce management information relating to the activities of the team.
  • Continually improve the transfer processes to ensure client and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Assist in the development of the WBS Business in conjunction with other experts and ensure all mandatory and Regulatory procedures and Controls are followed.
  • Support major change initiatives and deliver tasks to meet those requirements as directed.
  • Review market developments and regulatory changes that impact the business.
  • Understand the exchange relationships across all trading and operational geographies.
Requirements
  • Effective and proficient communication and written skills.
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to multitask and deal with multiple issues via different forums.
  • Ability to prioritise, be responsive, deal with ambiguity, and respond to changing environments.
  • A proactive approach, with the ability to focus and commit to delivering against deadlines.
Desirable Skills and Experience
  • Strong Excel knowledge.
  • Experience of the CREST GUI system.
  • Experience of multi-asset class transfers.
  • Experience of Altus Transfer Gateway.
  • Awareness of CASS 6 and 7 and where the regulations impact the work the reconciliation team perform.

Company benefits are provided on completion of either six months service, or a successful probation period whichever is sooner.

Entitlement outlined above is in respect of full-time entitlement, and will be provided to part-time workers on a prorate basis in accordance with the relevant scheme rules.
