Job Summary

Cuffley & Goff's Oak Medical Practice is seeking a skilled Prescription Clerk/Pharmacy Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing repeat medication requests, liaising with healthcare professionals, and providing administrative support to our prescribing team.

Main Responsibilities

  • Process repeat medication requests in a timely and accurate manner
  • Liaise with GPs, practice staff, community pharmacies, and secondary care colleagues
  • Enter patient information accurately onto clinical systems
  • Carry out system searches and use the Prescription Tracker to establish prescription status
  • Undertake administrative tasks as delegated by the manager

About Us

Primary Care Careers is a large medical practice with two sites, Valley View Health Centre and Cuffley Village Surgery. We have a happy and established team of healthcare professionals who are supported by an experienced and organized administrative team.

Requirements

  • Experience in a customer-focused environment
  • Experience managing prescriptions
  • Experience using clinical medical IT systems
  • Good IT skills and typing skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with patients and staff
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to adapt and respond to change

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of team spirit and be able to promote good working relationships. They will be computer literate in Microsoft Word and Outlook and have the ability to use their own initiative within clear boundaries.
