Director of Communications

The Cambridge Public Schools is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Communications & Public Information to join our district team. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective internal and external communications strategies to promote the district's mission, values, and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee content development for the district's website, publications, social media, and other communication platforms.
- Collaborate with central office and school staff to ensure consistent, relevant, timely, and high-quality communication and content across the district's websites, social media platforms, and other online resources.
- Assist in designing, implementing, and overseeing the district's emergency communication plans and efforts.
- Work with city and community partners to support aligned communication with shared constituents.
- Supervise the district's Community Relations Clerk and vendors engaged in communications.
Qualifications:
- 7-10 years of experience in a communications role in a school district, state education agency, or other educational context.
- Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills, especially in learning and communicating complex policies and practices to varied audiences.
- Strong knowledge of and experience with web content development, content management systems, and development of social media content campaigns.
- Ability to prioritize competing demands, work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment, manage complex projects, and accomplish deadlines.
