Salary and BenefitsThe salary for this role is estimated to be between £99,532 - £131,964 per annum. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits including on-site nursery, 27 days minimum annual leave plus bank holidays, cycle to work scheme, flexible working, in-house training and development, buying and selling of annual leave, subsidised restaurant, tranquillity garden, and generous subsidised on-site parking.
Job DescriptionThis is a senior clinical lead position in the Emergency Medicine department at George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust. The successful candidate will contribute to the day-to-day and strategic management of the department, working with the consultant medical team to provide senior clinical, managerial, and teaching cover. They will also be responsible for developing referral protocols for medical and nursing staff within the directorate, promoting high-quality medical care delivered in a timely fashion without duplication by different teams or grades of staff.
Key Responsibilities- To work with the consultant medical team to provide senior clinical, managerial, and teaching cover for the Emergency Medicine department.
- To train, supervise, and take professional accountability for non-consultant medical staff in the Emergency Medicine department.
- To work flexibly with colleagues to increase direct senior clinical input in patient care.
- To contribute to the day-to-day and strategic management of the department.
The ideal candidate will have a Completion or within six months of completion of a Specialist Training Programme in Emergency Medicine, MBBS or equivalent, FRCEM/FCEM/FRCS/MRCP/European Board, and Full GMC Registration. They will also possess thorough and detailed knowledge of medical audit, medical education, current clinical and medical best practice, and understanding of the Clinical Governance process. In addition, they will have ability to lead, communicate, liaise, and negotiate with others, manage and lead clinical teams, and competent in basic information technology.
