Job Title: Teaching Assistant - Secondary School

We are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team at a supportive and welcoming secondary school. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) within a mainstream secondary environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Support students with SEN in a mainstream secondary school setting
  2. Work with students up to GCSE level in various departments
  3. Provide one-to-one and small group support to students who require additional help
  4. Run small group literacy intervention classes and identify students who would benefit from further support
  5. Encourage and facilitate independent learning
  6. Support classroom management and maintain a positive learning environment
  7. Assess student progress and provide feedback
Requirements:
  1. Bachelor's degree (minimum lower second)
  2. Desire to work with children and young people and support their learning
  3. Experience working with children aged 11-16 in a school environment
  4. Desire to work with students with SEN and understanding of the barriers they may face
  5. Ability to build and form working relationships with students, parents, and staff
  6. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
