Job Summary: We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our team at BAE Systems Submarines. As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will provide subject matter expertise and advice to internal and external stakeholders on Systems Engineering and Model Based Systems Engineering. Your responsibilities will include coaching and mentoring in Systems Engineering practices, leading activities and supervising others as they tailor and develop Systems Engineering practices to suit the needs of a particular project/programme of work. You will also effectively communicate and negotiate with stakeholders to ensure the development and delivery of optimised systems.

About the Role: As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will have a significant impact on the success of our projects and programmes. You will work collaboratively across engineering disciplines and other functions to deliver optimised systems. You will demonstrate expertise in a given domain and also absorb and process new domain knowledge quickly. Your strong communication and interpersonal skills will enable you to effectively communicate and negotiate with stakeholders. You will also have the ability to coach, mentor, and assist others, as well as lead activities and supervise others as they tailor and develop Systems Engineering practices to suit the needs of a particular project/programme of work.

Your Skills and Experience: To be successful in this role, you will need to have a breadth of systems engineering knowledge and an understanding of the full engineering lifecycle. You should understand systems engineering approaches, processes, and procedures, as well as have a sound basis in the science of engineering. A degree qualification or equivalent experience in a science technology, engineering, or mathematics related discipline is essential. Additionally, you should be a member of an appropriate professional institution and Chartered with them, or demonstrable working towards Chartership. You will also need to have a high level of emotional intelligence, as well as strong communication and interpersonal skills, to effectively communicate and negotiate with stakeholders. The estimated salary for this role is £90,000 - £110,000 per annum, depending on experience.
