Senior Maintenance Engineer - Stonehouse

First Base is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Maintenance Engineer to join our team at our Stonehouse location. This is a full-time, permanent role with day shift hours and an early finish on Fridays.

We are offering a highly competitive salary to the successful candidate, along with 25 days of holiday per year.

Purpose

The primary objective of this role is to maintain all company plant and equipment in a good and safe working order, ensuring compliance with best practice.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineer, the Senior Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that all equipment is compliant with legal requirements and liaising with insurance inspectors as necessary.
  2. The role will also involve maintaining updated registers and lists pertaining to equipment and plant, as well as ensuring the testing of fire alarms and emergency lighting at appropriate times.
  3. The Senior Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all Health and Safety policies and procedures, as well as being aware of company policies and procedures regarding emergency preparedness and response.
  4. The role will also involve investigating risks and issues with manufacturing challenges, developing long-term and short-term plans to address these issues, and working with the Logistics Manager and Chief Maintenance Engineer to organize and schedule repairs.
  5. The Senior Maintenance Engineer will also be responsible for updating and reporting KPIs as agreed in BIC meetings, as well as working with the Development Team on development projects such as oil systems and roller boxes.
  6. As a supervisor of staff, the Senior Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that staff have a planned workload in place for day-to-day duties and conducting regular appraisals with staff.
Requirements
  1. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, with experience in press design and construction, fabrication, and electrical knowledge (18th Edition preferred).
  2. The Senior Maintenance Engineer must be able to maintain accurate maintenance records and produce PPM and breakdown maintenance reports.
