About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our European Power team in London. As a Power Market Researcher, you will play a key role in building and analyzing power market models, writing research on the future of European electricity markets and prices, and developing tools to conduct analysis faster and more efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain complex power market models and datasets
  • Conduct research on short-term and long-term power market trends and prices
  • Write reports and present findings to clients
  • Collaborate with the gas, carbon, and data teams to develop and implement new analysis tools
  • Take ownership of key power markets and develop expertise in European electricity markets
Requirements
  • Strong quantitative skills and experience in coding with Python (or similar programming language)
  • Strong knowledge of the energy industry and European electricity markets
  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or other quantitative science
  • Up to five years of working experience in the field of energy, either conducting research or working in the wider energy industry
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English
