Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced European power and/or carbon market analyst to join our global markets team at MNI - Market News.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in European energy markets, with a focus on power and/or carbon markets. They will be responsible for providing real-time analysis and insights to our clients, including traders, portfolio managers, economists, and strategists.

The successful candidate will work closely with our senior energy analysts and the wider markets team to deliver high-quality research and analysis. They will also be responsible for developing new analytical tools and research products, as well as managing existing relationships with clients.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Providing real-time analysis on European energy markets, covering power and/or carbon markets.
  • Interaction with clients during the trading day.
  • Working closely with the senior energy analysts and the wider markets team.
  • Contributing to regular thematic research.
  • Developing new analytical tools and research products.
  • Developing market connections and managing existing relationships.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a 2:1 undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline and at least 3 years of experience in European power or carbon markets. They will be able to deliver insightful and actionable analysis in a pressured real-time environment and will be a team player with strong collaboration skills.
