We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Carbon and Power Trader to join our Commodities trading desk in London. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for expanding our business in the Carbon Compliance markets and developing our franchise in the Carbon voluntary market.

Your daily tasks will include structuring, pricing, trading, and managing positions on Carbon and Power contracts (Physical and financial) to exploit and develop the bank's core client franchise in a risk-controlled, capital-efficient, and cost-effective manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Market making, risk management, and senior staff communication
  • Implementation of optimal trading strategies on carbon and power assets
  • Execution of trades with OTC/listed brokers
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with trading counterparties
  • Market monitoring, book marking, and data provision
  • Risk and P&L reconciliation
  • Development of technical, market, product, and technological expertise
  • Subject matter expertise on Carbon and Power within the bank
  • Coordination with Support units and operations team
  • Trade ideas and market comments provision
  • Automation and digitization of the Carbon and Power business

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of experience in Carbon and Power trading
  • Strong understanding of Emissions trading schemes in the EU and UK
  • Solid comprehension of the Carbon Voluntary market
  • Sharp technical expertise in Energy derivatives contracts
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills
  • Solid problem-solving abilities
  • Strong commercial mindset and high communication skills
  • High entrepreneurial attitude required to develop a business
  • Excellent P&L track record
