The successful candidate will have a proven track record of delivering engaging drama lessons that cater to different learning styles and abilities. They will be responsible for guiding students through various theatrical techniques, helping them master the art of storytelling, and introducing them to a wide range of dramatic styles and genres.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lesson Planning: Create and deliver engaging drama lessons in line with the school's curriculum standards, incorporating a variety of teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Student Engagement: Encourage student participation and engagement through various drama techniques and exercises, fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Evaluation and Feedback: Assess and evaluate student performance, providing constructive feedback and guidance for improvement, helping students to set realistic goals and develop a growth mindset.
  • Performance Coordination: Coordinate and direct school performances and productions, including rehearsals and overall production process, ensuring smooth logistics and effective communication among stakeholders.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other teachers and staff members to integrate drama into cross-curricular activities, promoting a cohesive and comprehensive education.
  • Health and Safety: Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment, adhering to health and safety regulations, and taking necessary precautions to ensure the well-being of students and colleagues.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Drama or a related field, alongside relevant teaching qualification or certification, such as PGCE or QTS.
  • Experience: Proven experience teaching drama to primary or secondary school students, demonstrating expertise in drama techniques, theories, and performance skills.
  • Skillset: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with students, parents, and colleagues, combined with strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.

We offer a competitive salary, paid to scale on MPS / UPS (£29,374 - £50,935 per annum), reflecting the importance we place on attracting and retaining exceptional talent.
