Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Surgical Services Manager to join our dynamic team at Barts Health NHS Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and manage the delivery of high-quality surgical services across our hospitals, ensuring safe, efficient, and patient-centered care.

The successful candidate will have recent experience of managing groups of staff, successfully leading and implementing service improvement projects, and managing budgets. They will also possess strong leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to enthuse, motivate, and involve individuals and teams.

In this role, you will work closely with the Service Managers for Anaesthetics and Critical Care, as well as the Surgical Specialties Teams and Emergency Care and Trauma Teams, to ensure seamless communication and collaboration. You will be responsible for establishing and overseeing specific workstreams that are part of the Theatres Efficiency Group, driving continuous improvement and high-quality patient care.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the delivery of surgical services, ensuring safe, efficient, and patient-centered care.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve service efficiency, reduce wait times, and enhance patient outcomes.
  • Manage budgets, resources, and personnel, ensuring effective use of allocated funds and maximizing value for money.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to establish clear goals, objectives, and priorities, aligning with organizational strategies and initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and data analysis, using tools such as MS Excel, to inform decision-making and drive improvement.
  • Foster a culture of transparency, accountability, and open communication, promoting a positive and supportive work environment.

Salary

£60,000 - £80,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
