Power Electronics Innovation Specialist

This role is ideal for a highly skilled professional with a master's degree or PhD in electrical and electronics engineering, or equivalent experience. The successful candidate will have a passion for power electronics and a strong track record of innovation, with the ability to design and develop novel power electronic technologies that can bring benefits in terms of technical performance or cost benchmarks.

The Power Electronics Innovation Specialist will work as part of an international innovation team based between the UK and Germany, responsible for developing the latest range of power electronic technology and ideas that can be integrated into future products. The role will involve designing, prototyping, and testing ideas using simulations and prototypes in an agile way, as well as adopting new technologies and methodologies to deliver solutions in a timely manner.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with power electronics hardware, such as converters, and a strong understanding of digital modeling and simulation of power electronics. Knowledge of German is a bonus but not essential.

  • Design novel power electronic technologies that can bring benefits in terms of technical performance or cost benchmarks.
  • Drive topics in power electronics/assembly and construction techniques.
  • Design, prototype, and test ideas using simulations and prototypes in an agile way.
  • Adopt new technologies and methodologies to deliver solutions in a timely manner.
  • Network with universities and research centres.
