Autism Support Specialist

Job Summary:
Empowering Learning is seeking a dedicated Autism Support Specialist to join our team at an Alternative Provision in Wakefield and Castleford. As a Behavioural Support Worker, you will provide individualized support to students with special needs, including those with autism.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide support to students with special needs, including those with autism.
Help students with daily tasks, such as personal care and hygiene.
Support students in their academic and social development.
Collaborate with the lead teacher to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.
Requirements:
Experience working with children, particularly those with special needs and challenging behaviours.
Knowledge of special education practices and strategies.
Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards working with children.
Ability to adapt to changing situations and handle challenging behaviours.
