Job Description

**Group Finance Director**

We are working exclusively with a dynamic, forward-thinking, owner-managed business in the engineering sector to recruit a driven Group Finance Director. The role will see you playing a key part in a passionate senior management team, for a business with an ambitious growth plan to double in turnover over the next 3-5 years.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement financial strategies to support the business goals and objectives.
  • Conduct financial analysis, evaluate financial performance, and provide insights to support decision-making.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities.
  • Develop accurate and realistic financial forecasts.
  • Manage the production and present comprehensive financial reports to the executive team and board of directors.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and risk management.
  • Implement effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Collaborate with other executives to develop and implement strategic initiatives.
  • Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure the development and retention of key finance personnel.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in leading internal and external audits.

Requirements:

  • Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA).
  • Proven track record in developing, leading, and motivating a high-performing finance department.
  • Innovative and continuous improvement mentality with the ability to automate processes.
  • Up-to-date technical skills and confident preparing UK statutory accounts.
  • Confidence communicating with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Hands-on, enthusiastic with a 'can-do' attitude adept at working in a dynamic business environment.
  • Ability to think strategically and contribute effectively to the overall business strategy.
