**About the Role**

We are seeking a dedicated Community Outreach Worker to join our team at Spark-A-Change Foundation.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting blind veterans and making a positive impact in their lives.

As a Community Outreach Worker, you will be responsible for providing befriending services to our clients, helping them to rebuild their lives after sight loss.

You will work closely with our team to provide practical advice and emotional support to veterans, enabling them to regain their independence and live the life they choose.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, empathy, and a strong understanding of the challenges faced by blind veterans.

You will also have experience working with vulnerable individuals and be able to maintain confidentiality when required.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Provide befriending services to blind veterans, including regular visits and phone calls
  • Work with the veteran to identify their needs and develop a plan to achieve their goals
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to help the veteran cope with the effects of sight loss
  • Liaise with other professionals, such as healthcare providers and social workers, to ensure the veteran receives comprehensive support
  • Maintain accurate records of interactions with the veteran, including progress and any concerns
