Job Title: Business Improvement Analyst

Direct reports/responsibility for: Assistant Business Analyst

Working Hours: Days

Position Summary: To continuously analyze the organization, its operations, S2P, and KPI results that affect both production and service departments. Review business processes/systems, ensuring and assessing the business KPIs are achievable. To identify continuous improvements in the quality of the services being delivered by the service departments. To support the development of new projects mainly providing post-implementation support.

Main Duties:

  1. Identify company improvements through working closely with all departments and analyzing their KPIs.
  2. Analyze processes and develop solutions to be presented to department heads and the SMT.
  3. Build a good rapport with all departments and department heads, from production areas through to back-office support functions.
  4. Handle daily business issues that impact the company KPI results.
  5. Recognize business opportunities (in both production and service departments) for S2P (safety, environmental, quality, cost, delivery, morale, and productivity) and support the company to attain these goals.
  6. Continuously work to expand, preserve, and improve the company's procedures while adhering to business and group policies and regulatory guidelines.
  7. Assist and support the Senior Management Team and Business sections with projects and business continuous improvements.
  8. Deploy all systems, methods, and controls across all areas of the business.
  9. Ensure a monthly report of all actions, improvements, and projects timelines are completed to show clearly activities and improvements identified.
  10. Identify areas that are not in keeping with company regulations by regularly auditing/analyzing process flows, reports, company procedures, work instructions, etc. Ensure that all written instructions are clear, concise, and unambiguous.
  11. Develop and document processes and tools to support management understanding through business analytics.
  12. Ensure that the financial aspects and impacts of contracts and expenditure are clear to all parties.
  13. Resolve contractual and commercial problems.
  14. To ensure the company runs both effectively and efficiently, analyze trends and identify improvements.
  15. Ensure adherence to compliance, GDPR, and information security rules and regulations.
  16. Health & Safety: To ensure the Health, Safety, and welfare of ALL staff specifically within the department. Carry out relevant Risk Assessments, and Safe Systems of Work where necessary. All accidents and near misses are to be reported and countermeasures implemented as required, within a suitable time frame.
  17. Quality: Work towards relevant standards and procedures to ensure all engineering improvements have been formulated with quality of product in mind. Assist with any of the production teams' Quality issues and propose engineering solutions to reduce the DAS levels.
  18. Cost: Ensure all parts stock, including critical spares, are managed in line with departmental needs. Track all departmental spends on a controlled document. Obtain multiple quotes and vendors to ensure quality of purchased items and cost of new components to try and reduce costs.
  19. Delivery: To ensure all work is focused around the achievement of plans and ensuring optimum line performance. Any delay is communicated to the relevant members, propose solutions to any line stoppages to ensure maximum uptime. Work with production staff and other departments to ensure access to lines for the required works or modifications, as and when required.
  20. Productivity: To ensure that continuous improvement is a focus on all engineering projects. Support achievement of Q2E projects across the production departments as required. Ensure all improvement works are controlled from cradle to grave and all relevant members are kept informed as the project progresses. Utilize the MUDA process to remove any unnecessary tasks.
  21. Morale: To ensure good two-way communication between all members of the department. Help with any training requirements in order for the machine to be operated not only safely but also efficiently.
  22. Environmental: Ensure all activities are carried out in line with the company's policies and procedures with special attention to turning off unused equipment, lights, etc. All waste streams are correctly segregated.
  23. Kaizen: To investigate, propose, and apply continuous process improvements and ideas. Promote and encourage company-wide Activities (Suggestion Scheme, SGA's, 5S, TQC Activities).
