Job Title: Business Analyst

Reports to: Company Secretary

Direct reports/responsibility for: Assistant Business Analyst

Working Hours: Days

Position Summary: To continuously analyze the organization's operations, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance efficiency and productivity. Review business processes and systems, ensuring they align with company goals and objectives. To identify and implement continuous improvements in the quality of services delivered by the service departments. To support the development of new projects, providing post-implementation support and ensuring smooth transitions.

Main Duties:

  1. Conduct thorough analysis of business processes and systems to identify areas for improvement.
  2. Develop and implement solutions to improve efficiency and productivity, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
  3. Build strong relationships with all departments and stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  4. Handle daily business issues that impact company performance, providing timely and effective solutions.
  5. Recognize business opportunities for improvement and support the company in achieving these goals.
  6. Continuously work to expand, preserve, and improve company procedures, adhering to business and group policies and regulatory guidelines.
  7. Assist and support the Senior Management Team and Business sections with projects and business continuous improvements.
  8. Deploy all systems, methods, and controls across all areas of the business.
  9. Ensure a monthly report of all actions, improvements, and projects timelines are completed to show clearly activities and improvements identified.
  10. Identify areas not in keeping with company regulations, regularly auditing and analyzing process flows, reports, company procedures, work instructions, etc.
  11. Develop and document processes and tools to support management understanding through business analytics.
  12. Ensure the financial aspects and impacts of contracts and expenditure are clear to all parties.
  13. Resolve contractual and commercial problems.
  14. To ensure the company runs both effectively and efficiently, analyzing trends and identifying improvements.
  15. Ensure adherence to compliance, GDPR, and information security rules and regulations.
  16. Health & Safety: To ensure the Health, Safety, and welfare of ALL staff specifically within the department. Carry out relevant Risk Assessment, and Safe Systems of Work where necessary. All accidents and near misses are to be reported and countermeasure implemented as required, within a suitable time frame.
  17. Quality: Working towards relevant standards and procedures, to ensure all engineering improvements have been formulated with quality of product in mind. Assist with any of the production teams' Quality issues and propose engineering solutions to reduce the DAS levels.
  18. Cost: Ensure all parts stock including critical spares are managed in line with departmental needs. Track all departmental spends on a controlled document. Obtaining multiple quotes and vendors, to ensure quality of purchased items and cost of new components to try and reduce costs.
  19. Delivery: To ensure all work is focused around the achievement of plans and ensuring optimum line performance, any delay is communicated to the relevant members, propose solutions to any line stoppages to ensure maximum up time. Work with production staff and other departments to ensure access to lines for the required works or modifications, as and when required.
  20. Productivity: To ensure that continuous improvement is a focus on all engineering projects. Support achievement of Q2E projects across the production departments as required. Ensure all improvement works are controlled from cradle to grave and all relevant members are kept informed as the project progresses. Utilization of the MUDA process to remove any unnecessary tasks.
  21. Morale: To ensure good two-way communication between all members of the department. Help with any training requirements in order for the machine to be operated not only safely but also efficiently.
  22. Environmental: Ensure all activities are carried out in line with the company's policies and procedures with special attention to turning off unused equipment, lights, etc. All waste streams are correctly segregated.
  23. Kaizen: To investigate, propose, and apply continuous process improvements and ideas. Promote and encourage company-wide Activities (Suggestion Scheme, SGA's, 5S, TQC Activities).

Skills/Attributes Required:

  • Ability to write clear and compelling process documentation and explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Good understanding of data analysis methodologies, tools, and techniques.
  • Sound analytical background and data analysis competencies, including PowerBI.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, as well as work independently.
  • Ability to maintain quality of work and meet multiple deadlines as required.
  • Familiarity with accounting practices (required).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral (required).
  • Comfortable looking at transformation across a high number of systems and business units.
  • Comfortable presenting and updating at Senior Management level.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Recently qualified, part qualified, or qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA accountant.

Desired:

  • NEBOSH managing Safely.

Experience:

Required:

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst, ideally within the manufacturing industry, with a strong focus on change management and business process reengineering.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent spreadsheet skills - Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail.
