About the Job

We are looking for a talented individual with experience in catastrophe modelling to join our Insurance Catastrophe Modelling team. The successful candidate will be responsible for bringing clarity and transparency to users and clients of property and specialty modelling, as well as maintaining and growing sustainable relationships with various teams within the business.

The role involves conducting exposure capture and modelling of pricing and portfolio risks, providing peer review for high complexity risks, and driving analysis conducted by Genpact. Additionally, the successful candidate will perform proactive portfolio optimisation and value-add modelling tasks, including supporting Senior Analysts in developing and maintaining models, identifying patterns and potential anomalies within data, and assessing and projecting risk exposure.

You will also undertake internal and external reporting activities, assist Senior Analysts in the design and implementation of risk management strategies, and support governance activities.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on challenging problems, develop your knowledge and career, and contribute to the success of our Exposure Management team.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Established experience in catastrophe modelling
  • Extensive experience of RMS RiskLink is essential
  • Experience in modelling Direct Property and/or Delegated Authority business is desired
  • Experience of AIR would also be beneficial
  • Coding experience in SQL highly desirable, and skills in R and Python would be useful
  • Experience using PowerBI is highly desirable
  • Good understanding of insurance terms and conditions is essential
  • Wider industry knowledge useful
  • Good pricing and portfolio management skills, including roll-ups
  • Ability to convey complex modelling concepts to non-modellers
  • Good communicator who is able to interact with underwriters
  • Teamwork and relationship building skills
