Job Title: Academy Catering Manager

We are seeking a highly experienced and inspirational Catering Manager to join our team at Musgrove Park Hospital. As a key member of our catering department, you will play a crucial role in shaping and enhancing our food services to improve patient care and staff wellbeing.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead the introduction of new technologies to transform our catering services and achieve efficiencies across patient and retail services.
  • Develop and implement effective day-to-day management strategies, including menu planning with budgetary control, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Manage a team of up to 25 staff members, requiring exceptional communication skills and experience in managing others.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
  • City & Guilds 706/2 or equivalent qualification.
  • Basic Literacy & Numeracy skills.
  • Intermediate and Advanced Food Hygiene certifications.
  • Experience supervising in a catering environment, preferably in an NHS setting.
  • Menu planning and management experience.
Additional Requirements:
  • Knowledge of HACCP procedures, risk management, and budgetary control.
  • Health & Safety Policies and Procedures awareness.
  • Knowledge of current catering legislation.
  • Food production/service procedures and stock control systems expertise.
  • NHS key standards for Catering knowledge.
