Main Job Responsibilities

As a highly experienced Catering Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of a comprehensive, high-quality, and cost-effective catering service to patients and visitors at Musgrove Park Hospital. Your role will involve supporting the strategic development of Catering Services across the Facilities Directorate.

Key Duties
  • Management responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of a comprehensive catering service to patients and visitors.
  • Support the strategic development of Catering Services across the Facilities Directorate.
  • Menu planning with budgetary control.
  • Effective day-to-day management, including problem-solving skills and the ability to manage information and data effectively to influence decision making.
Person Specification

We are looking for a highly experienced and inspirational Catering Manager who has:

  • City & Guilds 706/2 or equivalent.
  • Basic Literacy & Numeracy.
  • Intermediate Food Hygiene (Level 3).

Desirable qualifications include:

  • Advanced Food Hygiene (Level 4).
Experience

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Experience supervising in a catering environment, preferably in an NHS setting.
  • Experience of menu planning.

Desirable experience includes:

  • Management of a large operational Catering Team in an NHS Setting.
Additional Criteria

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Knowledge of a catering environment at supervisory level, including HACCP procedures, Risk and Budgetary Management.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Knowledge of current Catering associated legislation.

Desirable knowledge includes:

  • Knowledge of Food Production/Service procedures and stock control systems.
  • Knowledge of NHS key standards for Catering.
