CMC Markets is a leading financial services company seeking an experienced Strategic Business Consultant to join its team.

Job Overview

The role of Senior Business Analyst at CMC Markets involves working closely with business and technical teams to develop requirements for strategic programmes of work. The ideal candidate will have strong business analysis and technical experience, with a focus on changes for institutional clients.

Main Responsibilities
  • Liaise with business and technical teams to gather and document business requirements.
  • Lead workshops to elicit and validate requirements from stakeholders.
  • Develop detailed analysis and documentation of requirements resulting in a pipeline of new user stories for development teams.
  • Project manage the development life cycle, including monitoring progress, tracking story status, maintaining project plans, and providing clear visibility on project status.
  • Carry out testing to ensure that new features meet the original requirements before handing them over to business teams.
Key Skills and Experience
  • A financial background is essential, with knowledge of lifecycle processes from client onboarding through to trading and/or settlement of asset classes and post-trade activities highly advantageous.
  • A minimum of 3 years commercial experience as a Business Analyst embedded in a technology team is required.
  • Proven experience of applying Agile software development methodologies is highly desirable.
  • General exposure to working on financial trading platforms is a distinct advantage.
  • A good working knowledge of software such as Jira, Confluence, or similar tools is desirable.
  • Strong problem-solving skills are required, along with the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and take ownership of tasks large and small.

Candidates must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities. A competitive salary package will be offered to the successful candidate, ranging from £60,000 to £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
