Chassis Design Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Chassis Design Engineer to join our team. As a Chassis Subject Matter Expert, you will be responsible for supporting Vehicle Teams in the design and development of Chassis within Engineering Services.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Design and Development: Support Vehicle Teams in the design and development of Chassis, ensuring a consistent approach is taken through close co-ordination with Chief Engineers and Vehicle Teams.
  2. Technical Expertise: Coach and mentor Junior Engineers to broaden the level of understanding within the Department, and continuously improve design procedures, best practice, and efficiency improvements.
  3. Review and Approval: Review and approve procedures, technical reports, specifications, and drawings, ensuring they meet the required standards.
  4. Collaboration: Work closely with Vehicle Teams, Chief Engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  5. Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve design issues, and provide solutions to improve the quality of products.
Requirements:
  1. Education: BEng or MEng in an engineering-related field, or higher.
  2. Experience: Proven work experience in a design engineering environment for Chassis design, with a strong understanding of the full-cycle design process.
  3. Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Packages, including Excel, Word, and Outlook, and experience with mentoring engineers at the beginning of their careers.
  4. Adaptability: Ability to rapidly adapt to and understand new areas outside of previous experience.
