About this position:
We are seeking a highly skilled Automotive Design Engineer to join our team at Hernshead Recruitment Ltd. As a Chassis Subject Matter Expert, you will be responsible for supporting Vehicle Teams in the design and development process to ensure robustness of design and efficient test validation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Vehicle Teams to design and develop Chassis components, ensuring a consistent approach is taken through close coordination with Chief Engineers.
- Coach and mentor junior engineers to broaden their understanding of Chassis design and improve departmental knowledge.
- Continuously improve design procedures, best practices, and efficiency improvements to advance the quality of products.
- Review and approve technical reports, specifications, and drawings to ensure compliance with company standards.
Requirements:
- Maths and English GCSE grade C or above.
- BEng or MEng in an engineering-related field, or higher.
- Proficient in Microsoft Packages, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Proven work experience in a design engineering environment for Chassis design.
- Extensive experience with designing parts for Ergonomics components or Fabrications SME.
- Strong understanding of the full-cycle design process and potential issues that may occur at each stage.
- Able to rapidly adapt to new areas outside of previous experience.
- Experience with mentoring engineers at the beginning of their careers.
