Miles Platts Limited is a world-leading manufacturer of precision technical injection mouldings, bobbins, and coil-formers for the electrical, electronics, and automotive industries. We are seeking a skilled Design Engineer to join our team at our manufacturing facilities in Blaby. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing precision mould-tools, bolster systems, and other equipment and fixtures as required. Key Responsibilities:
  • Design high precision mould tools that meet customer expectations.
  • Design and develop other Miles Platts equipment, machines, and fixtures to ensure timely delivery and high-quality performance.
  • Maintain accurate revision control and management of the electronic drawing system.
  • Collaborate with the Technical Manager to ensure tools meet performance requirements before handover to production.
  • Understand the moulding process and its effects on products, and mandate setters to use optimal machine settings.
  • Develop expertise in engineering polymers and their applications, including optimum use and potential issues.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Tooling Design Engineer in injection moulding.
  • Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software, preferably Creo and/or Visi.
