Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and communicative individual to join our team as a Learning Resource Centre Assistant. As a key member of our support services team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Learning Resource Centre.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the day-to-day management of the Learning Resource Centre, including cataloguing, shelving, and repairing resources, as well as lending out and returning items.
  • Provide excellent customer service to students, responding to their enquiries and information needs in a timely and professional manner.
  • Support students in the use of resources and facilities available in the Learning Resource Centre, such as computers, printers, scanners, and photocopiers.
  • Contribute to creating a welcoming, tidy, and conducive learning environment in the Learning Resource Centre.
  • Supervise and guide students in the Learning Resource Centre, ensuring they follow the rules and policies of the school.
  • Collaborate with the Learning Resource Centre Manager and other staff members to plan and deliver activities and events that promote the Learning Resource Centre and enhance students' learning experience.
Requirements
  • A minimum of GCSE grade C or equivalent in English and Maths.
  • A good level of IT literacy and competence in using Microsoft Office and other software applications.
  • A friendly, approachable, and professional attitude.
  • A willingness to learn new skills and take on new challenges.
  • Experience working with children or young people.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
