Job Summary

The role of Interim Deputy Finance Director is a critical position within Hays Senior Finance, requiring a seasoned finance professional to support the finance director during a period of staffing restructure. This is a temporary assignment, initially lasting 4-6 months, and is an excellent opportunity for a senior finance expert to make a significant impact on the company's financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the finance function, producing financial reports and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Support the finance director in the production of year-end statutory accounts and annual budgets.
  • Manage income and accounting, negotiating insurance price uplifts.
  • Report and provide written commentary on month-end performance to the Head of Finance.
  • Support the Head of Finance in returns to the parent organization.
  • Create and maintain financial reports for non-financial stakeholders.
  • Review month-end reconciliations and highlight issues to the Head of Finance.
  • Ensure compliance with financial and industry regulations.
  • Develop forward-looking budgeting models and contribute to the group budgeting process.
  • Collaborate with other departments to achieve company goals.
  • Engage with external partners, auditors, banks, and insurance companies.
  • Lead intercompany reconciliations and undertake ad hoc project work.

Requirements

  • Immediate availability and experience as a senior finance interim.
  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification is essential.
  • Proven ability to manage, train, and mentor a team.
  • Personable and approachable with excellent communication skills.
  • Desirable: previous experience in the healthcare/NHS or similar industry.
